| Berit is a talented dog that's all about birds. As a young puppy Berit's display of natural ability and instincts were amazing. We started bird and gun introduction with Berit at 8 weeks old and by 12 weeks of age her desire for birds had intensified to the point were we could no longer get her back to us in the field. The sight of a 12 week old puppy intently searching for birds with 200 yard casts is really something, until you try and catch that puppy!. We joked about running Berit in a spring NAVHDA Natural Ability test. Others thought it was a joke also and said we where nuts to run such a young puppy. To the disbelief of others Berit did run in the NA test at the age of 13 weeks. In the field Berit received the maximum scores for search, nose and pointing. At days end, Berit earned a NA prize III 90 points. Berit is the fourth youngest dog in the NAVHDA history to earn a NA prize. NOW THAT"S RUNNING WITH THE BIG DOGS!
As training continued Berit proved her intelligence and cooperative nature by grasping new concepts quickly. Barely 6 months old, after being shown once, Berit would cross big water searching for ducks and would retrieve them to hand. Berit grasped all other areas of her training just as quickly and retains the training with minimal corrections. In August of 2007 Kara ran Berit in a NAVHDA Utility test, a first for both. Kara handled Berit to a Utility prize II 197 points. November of 2007 found Kara handling Berit at the International Dog Show. Berit earned the IABCA title of International Champion placing 1st in 4 of 4 show rings. The Accomplishments of Kara and Berit has earned the respect of others and made our Kennel proud.
Berit is maturing into a skilled versatile gun dog. She has an outstanding work ethic and tremendous stamina. She is always ready to work and gives 100% no matter the task. Berit has an excellent nose, is a staunch pointer, and enthusiastic retriever. Her never ending desire to produce birds and "never quit" attitude is obvious in testing or the grouse woods. In the house Berit is a pleasure to have around with a laid back attitude and mild temperament. Berit's "goofball" antics frequently provide entertainment. Look for Berit's continued success in the future like that of her sire Int Ch/VC Grouse Point's Blitz MH CGC UT-1 NA-II
